In addition to our subscription season, we return to the HTI studio for an original revue featuring songs from favourite shows that have made the transition to the "big screen".  This fast paced and colourful show includes numbers from West Side Story, Hairspray, Chicago, Dreamgirls, Rent, Sweet Charity, Gypsy, Little Shop of Horrors and more.

The ensemble of HTI's STAGE TO SCREEN were:

Angela’s onstage credits with HTI include ONCE UPON A MATTRESS (Lady Rowena), LA CAGE AUX FOLLES (Babette), RED, HOT AND COLE (Elsa Maxwell), HATS OFF TO GERSHWIN, ME AND MY GIRL, COMPANY, and THE UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN. Other onstage credits include Mother Superior in TONY AND TINA'S SWINGIN' SAFARI, Mary in COTTON PATCH GOSPEL (New Faces); and THE MOST HAPPY FELLA (Etobicoke Musical Productions). Angela's backstage credits with HTI include A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM (Stage Manager), JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT (Stage Manager), and A CHORUS LINE (Assistant Stage Manager).

This is Simone’s HTI debut. Onstage credits include Annie in ANNIE (Village Music Theatre). Simone is taking private singing lessons while working towards completing her Grade Nine Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) exam. She is currently taking her Grade Eight RCM exam for piano. Simone is also taking hip-hop dance classes. Simone won six gold medals at the Kiwanis Music Festival and came in second place at the 2006 Hamilton Teen Idol Contest.

Bethany’s onstage credits with HTI include LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (Audrey), LEADING LADIES, and TWIST AND SHOUT. Other onstage credits include Mme. Thenardier in LES MISERABLES, THE WHO’S TOMMY (Theatre Aquarius); Jeannie in HAIR (Creative Youth Theatre); Patty in GREASE (Temple Players); and EVITA (Hamilton Players’ Guild). Bethany traveled throughout North America as Ginger in a Spice Girls tribute band. Over the years Bethany has won many dance and singing competitions as well as national pageants. This is Kathleen’s HTI debut. Onstage credits include SIX WOMEN WITH BRAIN DEATH OR EXPIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW (Studio Theatre - Sacramento, CA); Gymnasia in A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, Vicki in A CHORUS LINE (Woodland Opera House); Jenny Woolhaven in THE HIGH SCHOOL THAT DRIPPED GOOSEFLESH, Robin in GODSPELL (Menagerie Theatrical Productions); Beverly in THE SHADOWBOX (Fair Oaks Repertory Theatre); and Sonia in GODSPELL (St. Michael’s Actors Guild). This is Denice’s HTI and musical theatre debut. Denice has performed with various bands in Toronto and the GTA. She has held the roles of Songwriter, Producer, Director and Crew for various productions at private schools in Hamilton.

This is Annie’s HTI debut. Onstage credits include Graziella in WEST SIDE STORY, Juliet in THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE, Frenchie in GREASE, and The Maid in THE BALD SOPRANO. Annie has performed in several Sears Drama Festival Competitions and went on to win Awards of Excellence for both her onstage and backstage work. Two of her productions over the years were selected to appear in the Sears Drama Showcase. This is Emily’s HTI debut. Onstage credits include MAN OF LA MANCHA, AL CAPONE'S BIRTHDAY (Ken Atkinson Productions); and DIDO AND AENEAS (York University). Emily has performed with several choirs and choral groups including York University’s The Salon de Chant, The Metropolitan United Choir, York University’s Women’s Chorus, and York University’s Concert Choir. Emily has also performed at several music festivals including The Kiwanis Music Festival, The Newmarket Music Festival, and The Georgetown Music Festival. Emily has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Classical Vocal Performance. Samantha’s onstage credits with HTI include A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM (Tintinabula), JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, and LEADING LADIES TOO. Other onstage credits include Cop in CONCRETE DAISY (Centre Stage Young Company); Sarah Brown in GUYS AND DOLLS, Rizzo in GREASE, Rusty in FOOTLOOSE (Saltfleet S.S.); and GUYS AND DOLLS (Westdale S.S.). Samantha trained in dance at Dance Rhythms and Tiffany’s Dance Elite. Samantha received her vocal training under the guidance of Susan Gudgeon. This is Shari’s HTI debut. Onstage credits include Carmella Vasconcellos in LAUNDOMAT AT THE END OF THE WORLD (Pearl Co.); Abby Nash in THE LONG WEEKEND (Theatre Burlington); Queen Beryl in SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARVES, Ethel Banks in BAREFOOT IN THE PARK (Binbrook Little Theatre); Maria Mirelli in LEND ME A TENOR (Aldershot Players); Natasha Navratilova in ROUGH CROSSING (Dundas Little Theatre); Wanda Duncan in MAGGIE’S GETTING MARRIED (Hamilton Players’ Guild); and Miss Dinsmore in SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN (Etobicoke Musical Productions). Shari won the Western Ontario Drama League’s Best Supporting Actress award for her performance in BAREFOOT IN THE PARK. This is Katie’s HTI debut. Onstage credits include Mission Doll in GUYS AND DOLLS (City Centre Musical Productions); Crystal in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, Smoker in BABELRAP, ANTIGONE, Mrs. Putnam in THE CRUCIBLE (Mount Carmel Drama); and Kelly in THE ARTFUL DODGERS (Trelawny Presentations). Backstage credits include Lighting Technician for CLOSER (University of Toronto Drama Productions) and Director for 7 STORIES (Mount Carmel Drama). Katie was a member of the Erindale Victory Choir and the Erinvale School of Dance. Katie won the 2005 Mount Carmel Drama Award.

PRODUCTION INFORMATION

This is Randy’s directorial debut. Randy’s onstage credits with HTI include BRIGADOON, BARNUM, CHICAGO, PETER PAN, HELLO DOLLY!, SUGAR BABIES, 42ND STREET, SWEET CHARITY, FOLLIES, COMPANY, ANYTHING GOES, MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS, MY FAVORITE YEAR, BLAME IT ON THE MOVIES and FOREVER PLAID. Other onstage credits include FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, SOUTH PACIFIC (New Faces); HITS OF THE BLITZ, AN EVENING IN PARIS, HOORAY FOR HOLLYWOOD, FREE TO BE YOU AND ME and JACQUES BREL IS ALIVE AND WELL AND LIVING IN PARIS (Hamilton Players’ Guild). Randy spent over eight years traveling the world and entertaining passengers aboard Disney Cruise Lines and Royal Caribbean International Cruise Lines. Randy currently sits on HTI's Board of Directors. Donna’s previous Musical Director credits with HTI include 42ND STREET, CHICAGO, ANNIE and SUGAR BABIES. Donna has been performing Musicals as a Musical Director and Arranger for nearly thirty years. Other Musical Director credits include ON THE TOWN, THE BOYFRIEND, A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, DAMES AT SEA (Red Mill Dinner Theater); INTO THE WOODS, PIRATES OF PENZANCE, and MAN OF LA MANCHA (Drury Lane). Donna has toured with the Geritol Follies as a band member for over a decade. She has also shared her knowledge and talents with several local area High Schools who have mounted musical theatre productions. This is Wanda’s debut in the role of Producer. Wanda’s previous directorial credits with HTI include YOU'RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN, LEADING LADIES TOO, ALL NIGHT STRUT and BLAME IT ON THE MOVIES. Wanda’s previous choreography credits with HTI include FOREVER PLAID and JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT. Wanda’s onstage credits with HTI include MY FAVORITE YEAR, ANYTHING GOES, HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, ANNE OF GREEN GABLES, and CAROUSEL. Wanda has served as a choreographer for several local theatre companies including Drury Lane, New Faces, Dundas Little Theatre, Royal City Musical Productions, Meadowvale Musical Theatre, and Theatre Etobicoke. An Inky Award Winner, Wanda currently sits on HTI’s Board of Directors.
